As of December 31, 2007, this segment had approximately 1.6 million residential customers; 147,000 small business customers; and 93,000 commercial, industrial, and governmental/institutional customers. The Wholesale Energy segment offers electricity and energy services to investor-owned utilities, municipalities, cooperatives, and other companies that serve end users or purchase power at wholesale for resale. As of December 31, 2007, this segment owned, had an interest in, or leased 38 operating electric power generation facilities with an aggregate net generating capacity of 16,337 megawatts in 5 regions of the United States.
