| Approach Resources, Inc. engages in the exploration, development, production, and acquisition of unconventional natural gas and oil properties onshore in the United States and British Columbia. The company has a 100% working interest in the Ozona Northeast field covering 44,600 gross and 44,000 net acres in Crockett and Schleicher counties, Texas; and a 50% working interest in the Cinco Terry project comprising 21,900 gross and 9,507 net acres located northwest of the Ozona Northeast border. It also owns a 50% working interest in the North Bald Prairie project consisting of 10,300 gross and 4,850 net acres; a 90% working interest in the El Vado East prospect, a Mancos Shale play in the Chama Basin in North New Mexico that has various productive fields, including the Puerto Chiquito West and Puerto Chiquito East fields, and the Boulder field covering 90,300 gross and 81,000 net acres; and a 60% working interest in the Boomerang prospect located in southwest Kentucky in the Illinois Basin comprising 74,000 gross and 44,400 net acres. In addition, the company has a nonoperating, working interest ranging from 12.3 to 25% in a lease acquisition and drilling project targeting unconventional gas reserves in the emerging Montney tight gas and Doig Shale play in Northeast British Columbia consisting of 32,700 gross and 7,425 net acres. As of December 31, 2007, Approach Resources owned working interests in 293 producing oil and gas wells, and had proved reserves of approximately 180.4 billion cubic feet of natural gas equivalent.
