It operates in three segments: Pharmaceuticals, Nutritionals, and ConvaTec. The Pharmaceuticals segment offers cardiovascular products, including PLAVIX, AVAPRO/AVALIDE, PRAVACHOL, and COUMADIN; virology products comprising REYATAZ, SUSTIVA, and BARACLUDE; oncology products comprising ERBITUX, TAXOL, SPRYCEL, and IXEMPRA; affective and other psychiatric disorder products, such as ABILIFY; immunoscience products comprising ORENCIA; and other pharmaceutical products that primarily include EFFERALGAN. It sells its pharmaceutical products to wholesalers, distributors, retailers, hospitals, clinics, government agencies, and pharmacies. The Nutritionals segment manufactures, markets, distributes, and sells infant formulas and other nutritional products comprising ENFAMIL products that contain nutrients, such as docosahexaenoic and arachidonic acids. The ConvaTec segment manufactures, distributes, and sells ostomy, and wound and skin care products primarily to hospitals, medical professions, and medical suppliers under the NATURA, SUR-FIT, ESTEEM, AQUACEL, DUODERM, and FLEXI-SEAL brand names. The company is also developing various compounds, which are in phase III clinical trials, including Apixaban, Saxagliptin, Ipilimumab, Belatacept, and Dapagliflozin. In addition, it develops a therapeutic class of biologics called ADNECTINS. BMS has agreements with Sanofi-Aventis; Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.; ImClone Systems Incorporated; Gilead Sciences, Inc.; Medarex, Inc.; AstraZeneca PLC; and KAI Pharmaceuticals, Inc., as well as collaborations with Pfizer, Inc. and Exelixis Pharmaceuticals, Inc. The company was founded in 1887. It was formerly known as Bristol-Myers Company and changed its name to Bristol-Myers Squibb Company in 1989. BMS is headquartered in New York, New York.
