The companys critical care products comprise Diprivan for the induction of general anesthesia in adult and pediatric patients; Heparin that is used to prevent and treat blood clotting during and after surgery; Naropin for the production of anesthesia for surgery and for acute pain management; and Oxytocin, which is used to induce labor at term and control postpartum bleeding. Its sells its products through sales force and specialty distributors to hospitals, long-term care facilities, alternate care sites, clinics, and doctors in North America.
