CALGARY, Alberta (AP) -- Suncor Energy Inc., Canada's largest energy producer, named Dominic D'Alessandro and Jacques Lamarre to its board of directors.

The moves were announced late Thursday. D'Alessandro was president and CEO of financial services company Manulife Financial Corp. for 15 years before retiring earlier this year. Lamarre was president and CEO of SNC Lavalin, an engineering and construction company, for 13 years.

In afternoon trading, Suncor stock gained 80 cents, or 2.3 percent, to $35.22.
